I went to the Georgetown Cemetery in Hudsonville Mi. the other day...

Updated: 12 hours ago

I stopped to water flowers at my parent grave. Something I do often however we 4 sisters alternate the watering visits. Something struck me this time. I was made accutely aware of how many US flags were at the side of the grave markers. There they were... hundreds of them. Standing erect as an honor to their deceased veteran whom also stood erect in obeance of command during their service to this great country or ours... the United States of America.

Hundreds of them silently standing straight and at full attention.

Marking the few that have served and now have gone on ahead of us... hopefully Heaven. With tears in my eyes I write this, I snapped a picture that is just a small representation of Georgetown Cemetery in Hudsonville Mi. 49426 on 28th Ave and a tiny representation of ALL vets who have gone on berfore us. My dad never held or saw me in person until i was 18 months old. He like many others shipped out before I was born. How many stories there must be just in that one small cemetery that remain untold to the public, held only within the walls of "your" family. Maybe its time to tell your story.

If you have a story to tell... and share... I would be most honored in hearing about it and allowing me a glimps into your Veteran. Really... I would.
